Happy Thanksgiving !

Wow ,can you believe that tomorrow is Thanksgiving? I mean really, where did the time go? I hope that you all are ready for the big day and will be enjoying it with family and friends.I have already done some of my cooking in preparation for our meal .We usually eat in the middle of the day but this year it will be after 5 pm as our son has to work.I will be preparing a meal for the four of us so it  will not be a big deal.

I have so many things to be thankful for this year.First and foremost I am  grateful to serve  a loving  and faithful God without fear of man.My blessings extend to having a wonderful and talented man that I call my hubby ,a son that is through the growing pains of being a teenager and has turned into a special young man.Three years ago he introduced into our lives an awesome young lady that has become a daughter of my heart . I lost my dad three years ago but still have my mamma ,sisters and  a brother to share Thanksgiving with this year. One more thing that I am so thankful for is the friends that I have gained over the internet. You all are a special group of ladies.

May your Thanksgiving day be filled with family, friends, good food and laughter! Many blessings ,Jen

A couple of projects

It is pouring rain here today so I thought it would be a good time to share a couple more projects that I have finished recently.I am really enjoying needle punching and find it to be a fun ,relaxing craft. The first project is of a pumpkin that I dyed the orange thread for using Rit dye.

Here is a closeup of the turkey in the center of the pumpkin.

The next project is one that I made from a pattern that I got from Becca at Folk Art FromThe Harbor called Mr.Boots. I adapted the pattern to add my own touches.Hubs and I made the backer board together ,I designed it and he followed the directions cutting it out.LOL! Seriously he is a great help and tries to make the things I ask him to. I also made the snowman on the basket from the same pattern.

A closeup of the snowman ,it is not as bright as it seems in the pic.

This is by far the largest needle punch project that I have done so far.It is 12"X24" and has taken me many hours to finish.

It's raining,it's raining, the old man  Gretchen is snoring. Anyone want to come and snuggle with me?
This is how my favorite girl  will spend her day if it is raining.LOL! What a blessed life .

Well ,I will say good-bye for now.I hope that you all are well and enjoying life.Hugs and blessings,Jen

Another Fall needle punch and a big thank you!

November  arrived as a pretty day here in Central Kentucky,it isn't too cool and the sun is shining. It is just so hard to believe that it is already November and won't be long till the big holidays roll around. This year has gone by in a flash, it feels like it should only be starting, not almost ready to end.Not a lot going on at home other than I am having a bit of fun with my needle punch. It is a good hobby for the cooler days we are getting now. Here is one that I finished a week or so ago ,it will be going to a friend as we are doing a swap.

I used a scrap piece of wood and cut it in the shape of an acorn for the backer board. It was a fun piece and I got to drag out my jig saw.

I would like to take  a moment to say thank you for all the sweet emails I have received in response to my asking for prayers for Kitty and Jim.! They are so appreciative as I am,it really helps to know that so many folks are praying for them. So thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I would also like to say that my thoughts and prayers are with all of our East Coast friends as they deal with the aftermath of the snowstorm.I know many are still without power and it is hard to take care of the day to day living, such as showering and cooking with out electricity.Stay safe and warm if you can!Big hugs to you all!

I would also like to send out a big thank you to Laura of Rhodes Creations  as she recently had a surprise giveaway. Well I was one of the blessed folks to win! You had the choice between one of Laura's sweet bread mixes or jam.I chose her Apple Spice sweet bread.I was not disappointed in that choice either! Can we just say yummy! I full expected to receive the dry mix but instead I got two baked loaves ,how sweet is that.Laura thank you so much ,myself and the family enjoyed it immensely! Please checkout Laura's blog if you haven't already ,because she is  talented and so sweet! Here is the other blog that Laura has Laura's Little House.

Well I guess that is it for today. It won't be long till hubby gets home from work.Supper is homemade veggie soup and of course I need a piece of corn bread for mine.My Granny taught me to eat it that way years ago.LOL! Blessings ,Jen
