A Few Of My Favorites

Hello my friends, it certainly feels more like winter than spring today here in Kentucky. There has not been a lot going on that is exciting enough to blog about so I thought I'd  share a few of my favorite things .As many of you know that I am just a plain country girl with a big love of animals.Nothing better than getting a hug from one of the many critters that own you.

This afternoon as I went to feed for the evening and tuck the goats, dogs, chickens ,ducks and rabbits in their beds for the night ,I grabbed a banana as a snack .As I reached the goat lot I still had not finished my banana so I decided to sit on the bank and watch the goats play as I finished eating it.Big mistake !As any of you that own chickens know they will follow you much like a dog if they are pets.Well my chickens are pets and so my snack soon became their snack.I sat on the bank pinching pieces of banana off and hand feeding it to the chickens. The feeling of sitting there surrounded by my chickens was one of peace and contentment. It was such a small thing but I am so thankful to be able to enjoy my animals knowing that their friendship and love is unconditional.I have long thought that the best friend that a person can have is an animal for they do not judge you harshly or unfairly.Give them love and they return it tenfold .

Here are a few pics of some of my favorites...

May you each be blessed with peace and love in your heart!Hugs,Jen

Oh, Jen ~ you have so many magnificent animals. They look adorable to us but I know that they are a lot of work for you, and that just shows how much love you have for all of them.
Chickens like bananas, I learn something new every day.

I love all your animals! I am still trying to convince my hubby to let us get some goats. What kind do you have? Yes, my chickens will follow me everywhere when I have food in my hands, they chase my children around when they have snacks outside, lol, but it is a peaceful feeling sitting there enjoying watching all the wonderful critters run around and have fun :) Hope you have a wonderful week!

Ah, nothing like spending time with our pets. I too have chickens, a muscovy duck, a cat, and two dogs who I have adopted. We use to have khaki campbell ducks but the coyotes got them all while they were at the pond. I don't think I can have ducks here and make them safe. I would have to sit on the porch like granny clampett with a shot gun to ward them off.
But I do enjoy the animals I have. I put all of mine in at night too. Makes me feel better knowing they are all safe and sound. Thanks for sharing your pet pics.

It truly is the simple things that bring us pleasure...like feeding a banana to the chickens. What a peaceful place you have there with all the wonderful creatures. You must have a lot of fun too!

Oh my the baby goat is so sweet. My chickens love to eat my banana peels. They once went under my rose bush but no more. We have many of the same creatures that own us. Years ago I had twin goats. Maybe again some day. Blessings!
