A couple of projects

It is pouring rain here today so I thought it would be a good time to share a couple more projects that I have finished recently.I am really enjoying needle punching and find it to be a fun ,relaxing craft. The first project is of a pumpkin that I dyed the orange thread for using Rit dye.

Here is a closeup of the turkey in the center of the pumpkin.

The next project is one that I made from a pattern that I got from Becca at Folk Art FromThe Harbor called Mr.Boots. I adapted the pattern to add my own touches.Hubs and I made the backer board together ,I designed it and he followed the directions cutting it out.LOL! Seriously he is a great help and tries to make the things I ask him to. I also made the snowman on the basket from the same pattern.

A closeup of the snowman ,it is not as bright as it seems in the pic.

This is by far the largest needle punch project that I have done so far.It is 12"X24" and has taken me many hours to finish.

It's raining,it's raining, the old man  Gretchen is snoring. Anyone want to come and snuggle with me?
This is how my favorite girl  will spend her day if it is raining.LOL! What a blessed life .

Well ,I will say good-bye for now.I hope that you all are well and enjoying life.Hugs and blessings,Jen

Jen, I love your finished projects. I am so excited about learning how to do punch needle. I bought a kit on our girl trip and hope to start on it after the holidays. Any good advice for a beginner who knows nothing about what she is doing? It has been raining here in the south today also and we have had tornado watches and warnings all around. I hate bad stormy weather. Will be so glad when cold weather is here to stay

I love your new pieces Jen!! Especially Mr. Boots - great job on the board....Don't you just love punching? I love hooking too, but it takes me soooo long - so, when I lose my focus, I always pick up a punch project - they seem to go so quick (although I've never done one quite as large as your Mr. Boots....Did you do that with 6 strands?) Love Gretchen's sleep pose...what a little cutie she is....Have a great rest of the day....Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

It looks great on the board. Gretchen is a cutie! That's what I would want to do too on a rainy day.

Happy Thanksgiving!

And I thought my dog was the only dog that slept that way. So funny.

I love punch needle. You would enjoy spending time with the Granny Bees. They do a lot of that kind of stuff. You should try rug punch too...not to be confused with rug hooking or latch hook...rug punch is just like punch needle but with yarn instead of floss.

Have a great THanksgiving.

Cindy

ps - change fromt he bags to the boxes for floss. Takes up less room. That was not my floss all neat and orderly. It was a fellow Granny Bees. I did the bag thing too. My floss was the top picture. Really.

Wow!! You do such beautiful work Jen! The details in these pieces are tremendous! Definitely something to be proud of! =]

Yes, Gretchen looks a lot like my miniature schnauzer on rainy days. Not much happening when he sits by the doors, so he snoozes away on whatever piece of furniture is near by me, hehe.
