New Beginnings and a New Look

Evening blessings to all ! First off I want to thank my son for making my new header and email button .Love them son! I have always had a thing for mice .I think they are the cutest things till they invade my home. Then lets just say I have a different thought on the matter. I do admit that if I find one in my feed barrels, at the barn, that I catch it and set it free.LOL !

I have had a few baby chicks to hatch this week and wanted to share a few pics with you .I hate  to keep them caged but it is necessary for their safety .

This is a bantam Buff Cochin hen .She hatched only a few of the chicks.I have other hens that are setting on eggs and as they hatch I give the babies to this hen .She is a wonderful  mom.

Aren't they cute little balls of fluff ? Oh yeah, the duck will grow up just fine .I promise it will not have identity issues.LOL! By the way ,it is a call duck.

Help mom ! I don't really want my picture taken !Seriously they were trying to get away from the camera.

Baby chicks are just like potato chips ,you can't stop at one !

Chow time! This is just a temporary feeder till they get a little bigger in size.

Now if you want to get a glass of tea or a bathroom break  ,I will wait.
Okay are you still  with me ?

These babies are being raised with a standard size Cochin hen .The babies are a mix of bantams and standard size chickens.I will let  them room together till the standard size becomes to big and  a hazard to the bantams .
She only has six or seven babies and one call duck.

Now I hope that I haven't bored you to sleep yet.I have one more baby to share. It is Casper my baby Flemish Giant .He is around 4 months old and has a lot of growing to do yet.

This a pic of him and a standard sized Cochin roo. Sorry about the blurriness. The roo is actually bigger than he looks here.

Last picture I promise . LOL!
I hope that you have enjoyed my little tour of  a few of my babies .It has been a lovely day here in Kentucky. I wish you all a wonderful weekend .Hugs,Jen
